Parker Arts Council Offers Student Internships

PAC Internship Application

In an effort to create events that are of interest to teenage youth in the Parker area and involve them in our productions, PAC introduced an Internship Program for High School Students in August of 2005. This program was designed to introduce the students to a variety of experiences that encompass many of the Councils activities. Such activities include all facets of theatre production, advertising, working events, and creating presentations for their peer groups to identify what the Parker Arts Council is doing in the community and provide feedback to PAC on student interest and comments.

In its 6th year the PAC will be offering high school students in grades 10th through 12th the opportunity to work during the 2010-2011 school year while earning a $500.00 stipend at the completion of the program and Letters of Recognition and Recommendation from the Board of the Parker Arts Council. The PAC has will be offering this years internship to 8 students interested in learning what goes on 'behind the scenes' for the planning and production of PAC events. The selected Interns are required to commit to at least 125 hours of time with PAC, which includes attendance at Board Meetings and participation at all events. Additionally, they are the spokespersons to their respective schools to keep students informed of Community Service opportunities and upcoming events to enjoy.

Past Interns have been amazed that the program was more fun than work, and surpassed the required time commitment.

If you are a High School student in Douglas County or know of any student that may be interested in this program, please contact Barbara Donahue on 720-878-3429 to get an application and more information. You may also download the application from this website and mail it to:
